Patience is the Powerful Word This Month at Premier Martial Arts

"The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it." --Arnold H. Glasgow

Premier Martial Arts here in Walla Walla is studying the Powerful Word Patience . Good things come to those who wait.

"Regardless of age, It's hard to wait! While some children seem to be able to "occupy" their time better than others, it is often easier to get what you right away than have to wait your turn to get it . The good news is, we can help our children exercise their patience skills so that they get better at waiting things out. Here are some tips:

  1. Start Now

  2. Teach Strategies

  3. Show them how to be patient

  4. Practice

These are a few of the concepts we will be teaching our children this month. We welcome you to join our Personal Develepment School.

Calm

The ability to be calm leads us to take the appropriate steps in dissolving chaos in our lives. To achieve peace in any situation, we need to calm our thoughts so we can dispel our fears. As parents, we need to model calm and provide a calm atmosphere in our homes. We need to think clearly and guide conversations in a peaceful manner. We, as adults, need to take it further and model calm in our neighborhoods and our workplaces. Like happiness, calm begins within. Once we set the foundation, we can begin building the way to peace in our lives.

Stranger Danger? Here is Better Research

“Stranger danger” - the phrase is so pervasive in our culture that it has become part of the lexicon. Well-intentioned adults perpetuate this misguided message, and the media often uses it as a slogan. A recent case illustrates how literal children may be when given a specific message. The child in this case may have evaded his rescuers, because he had been taught “not to talk to strangers.” .... More....

Premier Martial Arts gives Children and Adults Confidence to be themselves in all situations. Children need this self confidence to act effectively when faced with a potentially dangerous situation.

Looking for a Great Noon Work Out? PMA has Bruce Lee's Non Classical Gung Fu

If you are looking for a great work out at noon, or just a great way to blow off steam, Premier Martial Arts here in Walla Walla is offering Bruce Lee's Non Classical Gung Fu at Noon on Tuesdays and Thursday's.

Here is what a few people have said:

"I lost 30 pounds..."

"I always feel great after NCGF"

"I have more Confidence"

"This is a rediculous work out"

If you want to get in shape, have fun people to do that with, and learn some great self defense NCGF is for you.

What is Non Classical Gung Fu? Gung Fu is Cantonese for Kung Fu which means good work or job well done, it has come to mean here in America Chinese Martial Arts. Bruce Lee made the Martial Arts famous in the movies but lessor known is the effect that he had on martial arts in general. Bruce approached the arts from a what works point of view rather than following tradition blindly and inadvertantly launched the concept of mixed martial arts. Bruce Lee's first students name is Jesse Glover who is one of the worlds leading experts on Bruce's methods. Steve Smith is a personal student of Jesse Glover and Fook Yueng, who was a teacher of Bruce Lee from 1959 to around 1966, Steve was made inheritor of Fook Yueng in the late 1990s and asked to continue teaching the method. What does that mean to you? Well you have a direct link into this rich method of work from someone who was taught directly from the source first generation.

$20.00

$20.00
Sometimes we just need to be
reminded!
A well-known speaker
started off his seminar by:holding up a $20.00
bill In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this
$20 bill?"
Hands started going up.
He said, "I am going to give this
$20 to one of you
but first, let me
do this.
He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.
He then asked, "Who
still wants it?" Still the hands
were up in the air. Well, he
replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.
"Now, who still wants it?"
Still the hands went into the air.
My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.
Many times in our lives,
we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that com e
our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has
happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still
priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know,
but by WHO WE ARE and
WHOSE WE ARE.
You are special

Is Your Child a Bully?

"No one wants to hear that their child is a bully. But if complaints are building up from children, teachers or other parents that your son or daughter is bullying other kids, it's a good idea to listen.Children and teens who are bullies are more likely to become criminals than other children. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, boys who were identified as bullies in middle school were four times as likely as their non-bullying peers to have more than one criminal conviction by the time they're 24."

Many People have asked me if Martial Arts teach children to be more aggressive, the answer to that is that when Martial Arts are taught correctly with live skills, children, teen agers, and adults become much less aggressive. They have self confidence to be sure which alows them the space and the tools to deescalate the aggression coming at them, to defuse the situation. In Tai Chi Chuan there is a saying to Attach, Neutralize and Return. Listen to what is being said, the body language really seek to understand the aggressive person, the neutralize, find common ground, then Return, by offering another alternative.

Premier Martial Arts is a world leader in teaching and empowing people to have the ability and courage to stand up for what they believe in.

"Steve, Blessings on you and all of your family at PMA, My family and I would like to tell you how happy we are to have found you and your school. We are getting into shape and feeling better everyday, I know that I am feeling like my old self again with the exercise and work outs. Darinda would like to say that through you and ma'am, she has been inspired to take courage to live life and not to be held captive by the past, and the world we live in. She feels encouraged to higher goals in her life and to have a positive effect on others in her day, all of which she contributes to your workouts, teachings, and personal interaction. Jeremiah says that he is having fun. That's about it, but I think that's a good one too. :) I would like to say that I have been having days of energy, and a level of awareness that I don't really think I have ever had in my life. Again, we wish to thank you and the school, and we ask God to bless you all in your personal lives, and in the time you spend with your students and the changes you make in their lives."

The Coble family.
